Dear friends,
Karma Lekshey Ling consisted of a few buildings situated in a small village when it was first established. Only a few houses were nearby, so there was enough electricity for everyone. As our monastery expanded and technological demands increased, it was impossible to supply all needs in our monastery by using a single electricity line, so often we had to sit in the dark and couldn’t work after the sun set. We tried to solve the problem by buying a pump that could only be placed 200 meters below the Institute. Unfortunately, the electricity wasn’t strong enough to pump the water uphill; yet the fuel cost us 350,- US $ a month and wasted 15.000 liters of water a day. The generator rattled non-stop and disturbed us, especially while classes were held and while we engaged in monastic activities. To solve this problem, I borrowed 9.950,- US $ from friends and had an own electricity line set up. Now I need to return the money to my friends and am at a loss. Please help me return the money that I borrowed so that everyone at Karma Lekshey Ling can study, work, and contribute to the Buddhadharma as meaningfully as they have done in the past and steadfastly wish to continue doing. Thank you very, very much for helping our monastery and fond greetings from Khenpo Karma Namgyal
