Today we went to put the border line for our New School Project area. Government officer came to measure the land that how much land exactly belonging to us. It will take few days to finish to measure all area. We have plan to build the New School after Kagyu Monlam 2012 only. We hope that we can complete our project very soon can shift School to the New Place and the you children can get good education from this place and bring peace for their life and also guide others through the peaceful way.

There are around 40 teachers and members in Karma Leksheyling. Most of them have graduated from Leksheyling. They are teaching and working very hard. It is important to have good teachers and staff for remain long term monastic education in this Goble. Unfortunately many of them are experiencing financial problem. We are fully hope that we can get supporter and this committee can offer at least 30 USD per month to all teachers and staff of Karma Leksheyling. Police Stop Us

Today is the 27th Happy Birthday of H.H. the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje. We woke up very early morning and offered white scarf (Khadhar) and did long live prayer of HHGK. Our monastery is located nearby Swoyambhunath.

After breakfast, we went to Boudhanath where the HHGK's Happy Birthday celebrating at Dabzang Rinpoche monastery. Unfortunately, the Nepal Police stopped us to go there. We asked the reason why they were stopping us but they were saying that they received their order from Home Ministry. We stand on the road more than 3 hours. We talked a lot peacefully with police officer but nothing was happen. Finally, we decide to not to go to Boudha and we did one round big stupa of Swoyambhunath which has nearly 3 kms. Police didn't allow us to use any banners and images but our monks from Leksheyling and nuns from Trangu Tara Abbey slogan Karmapa Khenno while when were making round the stupa. This is the situation what happen with us today.

We really want to know from Government that why they stop us for celebrate the Happy Birthday of HHGK. This year is 17th times celebrating HHGK's happy birthday in Nepal and there wasn't any problem. I heard from my friend on phone that at Boudhanath, they didn't get permission to go around Boudha stupa but they celebrated in monastery as well as with lot of police. Karmapa Khenno

The large piece of land we have been able to get for our future school project had been lying unused. To make the best use of this land, we planted a variety of vegetables that can be consumed by our monks in the future. Located in a very isolated area and amid a thick forest, there is a huge possibility that many animals will come and destroy the plants. Hence, we need to put up big pillars around the land and barbwire the fence to keep animals from destroying our crops. Also, we have to hire a few helpers to look after the land and will have to give them daily wages. All this will cost us $4000.00

For this purpose, we here seek financial support from all of you generous people. Since we would be immensely grateful to you for your kind donation and help, we would pray from the very depth of our heart for your success andprosperity.

News of Karma Leksheyling School

In modern Generation one should have basic modern knowledge and dharma knowledge at sametime. Without proper dharma view and idea inside our mind may face difficulties even if we want peace and happiness. Therefore Karma Leksheyling realized it is extremely neccerssary to give the normal and dharma education for children. In 2007 Karma Leksheyling School was official got permission from Nepal government and since then school was established and run well. Each year number of the students are increasing rapidly so the school complex and accomodation become narrow and couldn’t fit anymore so decided to look a place in Lapsephedi -6, Jaharsing Pauwa, Kathmandu, that is 40 km from Swayambhunath here the students from 1st grade to 8th grade will be taking place. I request all devotees , supporters and interested people to help our project in order to give children good education.

About the Karma Lekshey Ling Ritual Activity Committee

The Karma Lekshey Ling Ritual Activity Committee handles all the ritual activity and work of the Institute. It oversees and organizes all ritual gatherings and arranges the daily prayers and rituals of the monastery including any special day long prayers requested by our sponsors and patrons. Furthermore, it organizes classes to train the monks in all aspects of ritual such as the use of various ritual instruments, (cham or ritual dance) how to draw and paint various mandalas, and so forth. At present, the Committee is conducting a special class to teach interested laity about Buddhism and how to read the classical scripts.

The Specific Responsibilities of the Ritual Activity Committee

The Committee has four primary responsibilities

Managing the lighting in the two shrine rooms and in the which rooms committee members prepare the torma(or ritual cake)

Caring for and maintaining of the monastery's ritual instruments and other offering materials;

Scheduling the Ujin, Chant master, recruiting monks to play the different instruments required at pujas, and organizing crews to prepare the tormas required for the different prayers.

Future Needs and request for support

In recent years we have faced great difficulties caused by the frequent and often unscheduled power outages, also known as the load shedding, that we have become an increasingly common feature of life in the Kathmandu valley during the dry season. The main shrine hall where we perform the majority of our daily prayers has a very small solar backup system that can support only two bulbs, a quantity that is completely inadequate to illuminate the very large space. The small shrine room backup at all. Whenever there is a power outage the monks must perform by candlelight or in the dark. The room in which we prepare the ritual cakes or torma for daily prayer and special pujas also has no solar backup so that whenever the power is cut, the monks must work by candlelight.

To address these difficulties,caused by frequent load shedding. And to enable the various rituals we perform daily at the monastery to function more smoothly we are planning to purchase and install a solar system with sufficient capacity to light the main shrine hall, the small Tara shrine room and the work room in which torma are prepared. We estimate it will cost NRs.200.000.

We would be extremely grateful, as would the monks who must work or read the sutras in very poor light. We are confident that you. Helping to old people

Since 2006, Choje Lama Phuntsok has been doing what he can to help the old people of Manang. A few years ago, a German group called Himalaya Karuna started supporting this project and has been very helpful ever since. Due to the extremely cold winters and the deep snow in this isolated region of Nepal, older people who were alone and had nobody to care for them were becoming more and more distraught, and many committed suicide. When Choje Phuntsok heard about this, he found a few younger people living in Manang who agreed to bring the elderly food, firewood, and other necessities they drastically needed in order to get through the harsh winter months.
